What is your job at NCR and when did you start here?
I'm the Office Manager for Northern Christian Radio and I've held this position for many years. I started volunteering, (in 1984) before we even had our studio building. When visitors come in for a tour, I tell them I've been around longer than the cement blocks in this building. It all started when a girlfriend was working on a mailing project for the new Christian radio station coming to Gaylord. "I'll help!" I said and twenty years later I'm still helping.

What is your favorite Bible verse? Reason you like it? I Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." It's a continual learning process, to give thanks always….

Tell us about your family and pets.
My husband, Gene, is a boiler operator at Georgia Pacific. He's just completed 40 years! Son, Paul and his wife Cadie Rae live in Muskegon. They have given us a little bundle of joy named Ellie. Daughter, Sarah is working and waiting for God to open the door for her next adventure

Where else have you worked?
My first job was picking blueberries. Add some babysitting, serving ice cream, packing potato chips, church office work, and a federal government position. Now, throw in a lot of typing, organizing and scheduling. We won't mention raising a family and running a house. I lived in Brazil for almost a year as a short-term missionary. Also, I was an adult sponsor with a teen work project to Honduras and two trips to Israel.

If you could do anything else for a living, what else would you do?
You know, I've never filled out a job application for Northern Christian Radio. God has made each of us with unique talents and abilities. I'll probably stay busy in my retirement helping others in ministry. When you have the opportunity to help…you often don't think about the bigger picture. But, God has a plan. I volunteered, for what seemed like a one time project and He has allowed me to be here for over 20 years.
