What is your job at NCR and when did you start here?
I am the NEWBIE =) I started doing the 3-8 shift on NCR the beginning of November 2007
Tell us about your family and pets.
I have one husband, Rod, 2 boys, Jackson is 5 and Owen is 4.
We have had some brief visits with pets – Spoon and Get Out (our pet snakes) were with us for awhile but didn’t move very well (parents, you know what that is code for)
and then there was Nacho, our gerbil who wasn’t very nice but the kids loved him and one day he didn’t
move very well either…not a very good day at our house. We are on pet vacation for a while =)
What is your favorite Bible Verse?
My favorite verse comes from Ephesians. Ephesians 4:29 – Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up- according to their needs that it may benefit those who listen.
I love this verse because of the fact I work in radio and I realize how powerful words can be. This verse is always in my head as a reminder for me.
Where else have you lived and worked?
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and my family moved to Winona,
Minnesota when I was 12. Went to school and met my husband at Cedarville University in Ohio
and then up to Michigan (where my parents now live). I have worked with stations in Michigan,
South Carolina, Georgia and Wisconsin and have loved them all.
How did you get started in Christian Radio?
I always wanted to be a teacher – but in college, I quickly realized that teaching was not my gift.
My parents are not proud of this fact, but I looked in the back of the admissions book and looked for which major
had the most boys in it. It was either engineering or broadcasting and I wasn’t good at math so Broadcasting it was! I never found a boyfriend that way but I fell in love with radio and the impact that words can have.
